Outdoor Area Measurement Calculator
undefined
Overview
Calculates area and perimeter for rectangles, circles, triangles, or up to four rectangular sections, with optional volume from depth.
Assumptions
- Triangle area uses three valid side lengths.
- Irregular area is the sum of supplied rectangles; its perimeter is measured separately.
Worked example
A 20 × 10 ft rectangle is 200 sq ft and has 60 ft perimeter; at 3 in depth, volume is 50 cu ft.
Common mistakes
- Using a diagonal as rectangle length.
- Double-counting overlaps among irregular sections.
Limitations
It cannot validate a complex boundary or produce a survey-grade measurement.
Safety and local requirements
Measure from a safe location and call before placing stakes where utilities may be present.
